National Affairs

• 12वीं BRICS Environment Ministers’ Meeting — भारत की BRICS Chairship 2026 के तहत 12वीं BRICS Environment Ministers’ Meeting नई दिल्ली में आयोजित हुई। बैठक में पर्यावरण संरक्षण, sustainability और climate cooperation पर चर्चा हुई।
• भारत की नई SHANTI Doctrine — विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर ने भारत की नई SHANTI Doctrine पेश की। SHANTI का full form Securing Holistic Advancement through Norms, Trust and Integrity है।
• National Sports Awards 2025 — 2025 के Arjuna Awards के लिए कुल 17 खिलाड़ियों का चयन किया गया, जबकि Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award के लिए किसी खिलाड़ी का चयन नहीं किया गया।
• Defence Positive Indigenisation List — रक्षा मंत्रालय ने छठी Positive Indigenisation List जारी की, जिसमें 405 defence items शामिल हैं। इसका उद्देश्य defence manufacturing में आत्मनिर्भरता को बढ़ावा देना है।
• NITI Aayog Professional Services Report — NITI Aayog ने “India’s Services Sector: Insights on Regulatory Regime in Professional Services” रिपोर्ट जारी की, जिसमें professional services sector और services exports में इसकी भूमिका का विश्लेषण किया गया।

💰 Banking & Finance

• SEBI के Cybersecurity Platforms — SEBI ने securities market में cyber resilience मजबूत करने के लिए SEBI Incident Reporting Portal और Cyber Suraksha Portal लॉन्च किए।
• YES Bank का YES Essence Credit Card — YES Bank ने महिलाओं के लिए YES Essence Credit Card लॉन्च किया, जिसमें fashion, beauty, travel, dining और grocery जैसी categories पर rewards और lifestyle benefits दिए गए हैं।
• Qatar–India UPI Postal Remittance Service — Qatar में Qatar Post के माध्यम से भारत के UPI-enabled bank accounts में पैसे भेजने की नई postal remittance service शुरू हुई। यह सुविधा UPI और Universal Postal Union के PosTransfer infrastructure पर आधारित है।
• PM CARES Fund — 31 मार्च 2025 तक PM CARES Fund का closing balance लगभग ₹8,452.06 करोड़ रहा, जो पिछले वर्ष के ₹7,173.03 करोड़ से अधिक है।

🛡️ Defence & Security

• ₹1,577 करोड़ के Defence Contracts — Ministry of Defence ने Indian Army के लिए loiter munition systems से जुड़े लगभग ₹1,577 करोड़ के contracts पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
• Indrajaal Ranger Anti-Drone System — Indrajaal-Sigma consortium को लगभग ₹155 करोड़ के mobile Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicles के orders मिले। ये systems drones को detect, track और counter करने में सक्षम हैं।

🔬 Science & Technology

• Cyber Kushti 2026 — NIELIT ने Cyber Kushti 2026 national cybersecurity और AI-focused hackathon लॉन्च किया, जिसका उद्देश्य emerging cyber challenges के लिए innovative solutions विकसित करना है।
• Sea Urchin-Inspired Bone Implant Coating — IIT Mandi के researchers ने sea urchin spines की structural properties से प्रेरित bio-inspired coating विकसित की है, जिसका उपयोग 3D-printed bone implants में किया जा सकता है।
• India Semiconductor Mission — सरकार के अनुसार भारत में 2026 के अंत तक 5–6 semiconductor projects commercial production तक पहुंच सकते हैं।

🌍 International Affairs

• Wang Yi का South Korea दौरा — चीन के Foreign Minister Wang Yi ने 19–20 अगस्त 2026 को South Korea का दौरा किया। यात्रा में bilateral relations और regional issues प्रमुख विषय रहे।
• India–Arab League Cooperation — भारत और Arab League ने विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में cooperation और partnership को मजबूत करने पर चर्चा की।

🏅 Sports

• Ayush Shetty की बड़ी जीत — भारतीय badminton खिलाड़ी Ayush Shetty ने World Championships में World No. 1 Shi Yuqi को हराकर महत्वपूर्ण जीत दर्ज की।

🌴 Agriculture

• Coconut Production में भारत प्रथम — भारत दुनिया में coconut production में प्रथम स्थान पर है और cultivation area के मामले में तीसरे स्थान पर है। अब sector में value addition, exports और productivity enhancement पर जोर दिया जा रहा है।

📅 Important Day

• World Humanitarian Day — 19 August — यह दिवस humanitarian workers के योगदान और संकटग्रस्त लोगों की सहायता के लिए उनके प्रयासों को सम्मानित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है। 19 अगस्त की तारीख 2003 में Baghdad में UN headquarters bombing में मारे गए 22 humanitarian workers की स्मृति से जुड़ी है।
