उपराष्ट्रपति एम वेंकैया नायडू ने भी हमले की निंदा की है। एक संदेश में उन्होंने कहा कि मानवता आज आतंकवाद के रूप में सबसे बड़े खतरे का सामना कर रही है। श्री नायडू ने कहा कि सिर्फ समन्वित वैश्विक प्रयासों से ही अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आतंकवाद को परास्त किया जा सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत स्पेन की सरकार और लोगों के साथ है तथा हमलावरों से निपटने में स्पेन की कार्रवाई की सराहना करता है।
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has written to state Chief Ministers urging to reduce burden of Value Added Tax, VAT on Petroleum Products used as inputs in making of goods after the introduction of GST. The letter highlights concerns being raised by the manufacturing sector in the country regarding the rise in input costs of petroleum products on account of transition to GST regime. In the pre-GST regime, because the petroleum products as well as the final goods produced both attracted VAT, input tax credit of petroleum products used as inputs by manufacturers was allowed to varying extent by different States. However, in the post-GST scenario, the manufactured goods attract GST while the inputs of petroleum products used in the manufacturing attract VAT and, therefore, it would lead to cascading of taxes.
Also, pre GST, certain states had lower rate of VAT on CNG and diesel used for manufacturing of goods. The Finance minister has requested other states also to explore the possibility of having a lower rate of VAT on those petroleum products having GST, so that there is minimum disruption in the costing of goods.
वित्त मंत्री अरूण जेटली ने राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों से आग्रह किया है कि वस्तुओं के निर्माण में उपयोग होने वाले पैट्रोलियम उत्पादों पर मूल्य संर्वद्धन कर- वैट की दर घटाई जाये। राज्यों को लिखे पत्र में वित्त मंत्री ने नई अप्रत्यक्ष कर प्रणाली- जी एस टी के लागू होने के बाद पैट्रोलियम उत्पादों के मूल्य के कारण वस्तुओं की निर्माण लागत बढ़ने पर चिन्ता व्यक्त की है। जी एस टी प्रणाली से पहले पैट्रोलियम उत्पाद और उसकी सहायता से बनी वस्तुएं दोनों वैट के दायरे में आती थी। जी एस टी प्रणाली के लागू होने के बाद वस्तुओं पर जी एस टी लगता है और पैट्रोलियम उत्पादों पर वैट लगने से करों की दरें बढ़ जाती हैं।
वित्त मंत्री ने राज्यों से कहा कि वस्तुओं के निर्माण में आने वाले पैट्रोलियम उत्पादों पर न्यूनतम वैट लगाया जाना चाहिए ताकि वस्तुओं की निर्माण लागत पर ज्यादा असर न पड़े।
